What is a row and column?

In a spreadsheet, a row is a horizontal line of cells running from left to right, while a column is a vertical line of cells running from top to bottom. Rows are typically denoted by numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) and columns are denoted by letters (A, B, C, etc.).

Rows are used to organize and display data in a spreadsheet, with each row typically representing a different record or entry. Columns are used to categorize and display different types of information, with each column representing a specific attribute or field.

In a table or grid format, rows and columns intersect at specific points called cells, where data can be input and manipulated. Rows and columns can be resized, hidden, grouped, and formatted in various ways to customize and organize the data being displayed.
